  1. The Alliance for Advancing Nonprofit Health Care exists to protect and enhance the abilities of nonprofit health care organizations that seek to care for and serve communities. They also seek to bring better balance to public policy discussions about nonprofit health care and to demonstrate the value of nonprofits to help the public better understand their value. This is a nicely designed site that is easy to navigate and full of good resources. Take a minute to check it out!

  2. https://wtind.org/ — “Where There Is Not a Doctor” is a volunteer-run, non-profit medical organization that helps the poor and underprivileged people who live in the communities of Northern Thailand. The organization began in 2004 and has been serving the people in Thailand ever since. Most of the volunteers are medical professionals seeking to volunteer their time and energy to help those in dire need. They also have a “Sponsor a Child” program for those who are unable to travel. This is a great organization that is worthy of our best-of list.

  3. imoutreach.org — International Medical Outreach is a humanitarian aid non-profit organization that began in 1993. Its primary mission is to collect, sort, and ship new and used medical equipment to those in need all over the world. They focus their relief efforts towards infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and more. All the money and proceeds that International Medical Outreach collects are reinvested into other medical-focused humanitarian projects.

  4. www.amrf.com — The American Medical Resource Foundation exists to improve health care around the world by donating medical equipment and supplies to hospitals in poor and underdeveloped countries. Headquartered 25 miles south of Boston, this organization has been serving hospitals and clinics around the world since 1988.   5. www.crisisaid.org — International Crisis Aid seeks to sustain life, encourage those in suffering, and support relief organizations from around the world. They do this by bringing food, medicine and materials to people in need. The organization began 2000 by delivering humanitarian aid to the civil war-torn Southern Sudan. They have since worked in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Cambodia and more. International Crisis Aid’s website is split into four clearly marked sections that represent the different categories of relief effort. They are, food, home, health and safe. This is a superbly designed website that does its job in providing a beautiful face to a beautiful organization.

  6. www.camo.org — CAMO, Central American Medical Outreach, began in 1993 with the goal to help Honduran infants and children who were at risk of death due to a deficit of medical equipment and technology. CAMO seeks to establish significant roots and build long-term partnerships with health-care volunteers and local medical professionals. Currently, CAMO serves approximately 100,000 people with services that include eye surgery and breast exams. They are a well-established and authoritative Central American outreach and we thank them for the perseverance and their efforts in providing medical services to those in need.

  7. https://mplsheart.org/ — The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation has a simple but lofty goal: To create a world without heart disease. They seek to achieve this goal through scientific innovation and clinical research. This is a well-established foundation that began in 1982 by a group of cardiologists. The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation is financially supported by physicians and members of the community through charitable donations. On their website you can find the latest heart research, educational materials, events, and much more! Check it out.

  8. blackbarbershop.org — Statistically, African American men experience a significantly higher percentage of health-related issues compared to other demographics. For instance, 40% of African American men die prematurely from cardiovascular disease compared to 21% of Caucasian men. The Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program exists to increase public awareness of this issue and provide basic services to those in need. Their primary objectives include cardiovascular disease screening, educating, and referrals. Their website makes it easy to get involved and provides great information on diabetes, high blood pressure, prostate cancer, and more. Congratulations for making our “best-of” list!

  9. Let’s Face it Together is a great organization that seeks to help people with diseases of the eyes, brain and face. They achieve this by helping people navigate the healthcare system and by providing educational resources. They also offer financial assistance to those who demonstrate financial need. Their website full of resources and has a nice clean design. Great job for making our top ten list!

  10. projectcure.org — Project Cure is a phenomenal organization that takes medical supply donations and ships them to places in need all over the world. Established in 1987, Project Cure is truly making a difference in providing medical supplies and building sustainable healthcare infrastructure in at-risk communities around the globe. Project Cure has a clear focus and mission and has been uncompromising in pursuing their goals. For this, we applaud them and highly recommend that you not only visit their fantastic website but get involved yourself!
